When the program doesn't fit a standard catalog — we design from scratch. Product-based, drawing-based, or requirement-based: we engineer multi-material packaging systems around what you're protecting, how it ships, and what it needs to survive.
Most programs don't come with a packaging solution already specified. Hardware changes, programs evolve, and off-the-shelf packaging rarely fits the geometry, compliance requirements, or operational tempo of a real defense contract. We start from the hardware itself — or from a drawing, a spec, or a set of requirements — and engineer a complete solution. That means selecting materials, designing inserts, specifying the outer container, and validating the system against the distribution environment it will see. The result is a package that fits the program.
We start by understanding the item, the environment it will see, and any applicable standards. Hardware sample, drawings, or a written spec — we identify fragility, compliance requirements, weight and dimension constraints, and whether the package needs to be reusable, export-compliant, or shelf-stable for long-term storage.
We design the full system before cutting anything. Corrugated outers are drawn in ArtiosCAD, foam inserts are profiled to the hardware geometry, and wood structures are spec'd to load path and weight. Material selection — board grade, foam density, barrier film — is driven by what the item needs to survive, not what's in stock.
We build a first article and verify fit against the actual hardware before committing to production. Where testing is required, we validate against applicable ASTM or MIL-SPEC drop, vibration, and compression standards. Changes to fit or performance are resolved at prototype — not after a production run.
Once the design is validated, we scale to program volume. Specs are documented for consistent reorders — same materials, same tolerances, same result every run. As the program evolves, we update the design to match. The package grows with the program.
Send us the item — or dimensions and photos — and we design packaging around the actual geometry. The packaging components are fitted to the part and the result is a complete package that fits on the first build.
Government or customer-supplied drawings and specifications welcome. We manufacture to the drawing, validate against applicable standards, and document the design for repeatable production. PPP, MIL-SPEC, and ASTM references all supported.
Packaging engineered for depot, warehouse, or pre-positioned stock with extended shelf life requirements. Barrier systems, desiccant, humidity indicator cards, and sealed construction protect against environmental degradation over the storage period.
Custom wood crates and export containers built to ISPM-15 requirements for international shipment. Designed to the cargo's weight, center of gravity, and load path — with blocking, bracing, and tie-down points for over-the-road and ocean freight.
Send us the hardware, a drawing, or a set of requirements — we'll engineer packaging around it. MIL-SPEC compliant, prototype-validated, and built to scale with the program.
